Mile High Dachshunds Rescue

​Based in Denver, Mile High Dachshunds Rescue — affectionately known as Team Doxie — rescues and fosters dachshunds throughout the West. They have helped 215 dachshunds find their forever families and homes.

Team Doxie is comprised of a committed group of volunteers and operates solely on donations, grants, and fundraisers.

Team Doxie connects abandoned and surrendered doxies with safe foster homes and medical care as well as educates the community to promote pet wellness — all with the goal of finding dachshunds permanent homes. They also educate the public on the value of senior, rescued, and special needs dachshunds.

Our Pup Traveler carrier was actually inspired by a special needs Team Doxie rescue named Little Dipper Doxie!

Little Dipper enjoyed being outside, but permanent leg injuries sometimes held him back. His parents approached our founder Tim Price about creating a harness for smaller dogs.

“Honestly, I had assumed there were already enough small dog carrier options,” said Tim. “But as I looked, every small dog carrier I came across had the dog sitting upright in the ‘begging position,’ which is not ergonomically suitable for dogs. I realized there had to be a better way.”

Now, Little Dipper Doxie enjoys the outdoors in ergonomic comfort in our Pup Traveler.
